My cousin Chy came into town for the holidays and I enjoyed hanging out with her SO much it wasn't even funny!! She has this FANTASTIC blog called "What's Cookin' Girls" and it had some amazing recipes- my favorites are the Creamy White Chili and Homemade Oreo's- Yup, you heard me right- Homemade OREOS! They are Awesome! So just for her I made this fun little recipe book for her to put all those amazing ideas in! You have to check out her blog and see what I'm talkin' 'bout! It ROCKS! So I haven't been hangin' around the Blogs lately. Nor have I been creating that much for that matter. But I did get a burst of Inspiration the other night when my kids had been especially naughty and I took a "mommy time out" I dropped the kids off with my mom and headed over to my local craft store for some die cutting. If you buy their products you can use their dies for free.. Therefore, I spent a little (very little) money on some mat board and got to work. When I got back to my Crafting Space I had lots to go on and put together a fun book to preserve my families memories of our summer activities in.

We had gone Camping earlier this summer and I found the perfect paper to use.. But instead of doing the "typical" scrapbook I just had to do it my way- just a little different!! (Kinda sounds like me too!)

Oh and since I've been out of it for sooooo long, I'd LOVE to hear from my patient blog friends-

I joined a swap for Valentine's Day cards and this is what I came up with.. I wanted something simple and a little different. I paper pieced the Birds and ran the card stock and patterned paper through my machine with the new SU Bigz Die.. I'm excited to see what I'll get back

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE to bake.. I also love to keep my favorite recipes in a special place away from my not so favorite recipes. I made me one of these cute recipe books awhile ago and Ive been slowly but surely adding my favorites in.. This Recipe book was made for a special friends birthday that we are getting together tomorrow to celebrate. I'm not a fan of shopping but I am a fan of giving a little of myself in something I've hand made for someone special.. So this is for my friend Tiff- Happy Birthday Girl!!

Happy New Year Friends!! I know it's been forever since you've heard from me.. Yes, I am still here, I've just been otherwise occupied. Namely with ALL things TWILIGHT.. I am one of THOSE Fans.. I've been living in my Twilight world for some time now and I haven't felt the need to stamp or create at all..
I did get this wonderful die cut from my best friend for Christmas and then went and splurged on a few new sets to try and amp up my mojo..
I've seen lots of cute, cute things being done with the new SU dies and so I just couldn't help myself..
I hope I can stay on top of blogging and creating this year.. I know I've been a complete Slacker! I appreciate all of you who are getting this update- having not given up on me and unsubscribed.. Love to you all in this new year!

I don't remember where I got the idea, but some incredibly talented stamper out there came up with this fabulous idea for a Birthday card book using 12x12 double sided paper folded and bound using the BIA.. This is one of many that I have made, I love how easy it is and it comes together so quick!!

This is a card I cased off a card that I cased off someone who's name I don't remember.. Sorry!
I did change the layout up a little bit and added the extra strip of paper at the bottom. I also used the "poppin' pastels" technique on the heart.. I think I'm going to use this in an upcoming techniques class.. Thanks for hanging in with me,

This is from yet another retired set that I didn't get my hands on soon enough, I've always loved it.. I'm not sure how I'll survive giving it back to it's owner, but isn't it great! I was super happy with how it came out, I think I sat down to just play and had no intentions of making anything but a mess. I was thrilled with it (does it sound like I'm tootin' my own horn here, or what!!??)

Sweet Baby

A friend just had her sweet little girl this week so I wanted to make a card for her.. I can't wait to see her, her big sister is just absolutely darling and I'm sure she will be too! I couldn't resist using my new "All in the Family" set and just got started from there.. Here are a few pictures of my new stamp space. In the last 2 houses we have lived in I have been blessed to have a very large stamping room. However in our new place that is somewhat smaller (thank goodness-big houses are hard to clean) I have what I would compare to a walk in closet, and since it's just off the master bedroom that name could really apply. It's quite small, but since I just got some new shelving yesterday I've been miraculously able to make it ALL work, and I think I like this space the BEST! I'm going to get me a mat for the floor and a little swivel chair and then I'll be able to just turn and grab whatever I need.. I'm really VERY happy with it and lately have just been finding myself in here just sitting. Maybe its for the quiet or maybe just cuz I like it so much.. Hugs,

Prehistoric Fun

I love this set it is so much fun to play with!! I had a day at my Stampin' Table watching movies and Stampin'- I watched Penelope twice! It was a very cute movie despite the reviews it got... James McAvoy is super cute and Christina Ricci is an awesome actress and so beautiful! Of course I had to make some cute books too, the little one is for my Friends little boy- This is his stamp set so I felt it appropriate to make him something with it. I used grid paper from a pad and cut it to size for the books. I always LOVED writing and drawing on grid paper when I was little so I figured it would be fun to use in a book..

Altered Scrapbook "A"

One of the sweetest girls in my Sunday school class just celebrated her Birthday and I was invited!! I wanted to make her something special and so I put this scrapbook together, with lots of fun colors, some sparkle and dazzle! I also added some extra elements so that when she put her own pictures and memories in it that she has some more things to use.. I was SUPER excited when she opened it up and told her I was going to follow up and see what she has added to it!! Enjoy!!

I've ALWAYS wanted this set, and I never got it before it retired. Now I have a friends and I LOVE it even more. So I made a few fun summery, hawaiiany type cards that were fun and easy.. To get the lighter shade I stamped once then again before re-inking Have you noticed that I've been getting a LITTLE better at posting?? I have lots more to share with you and one project that I PROMISED my friend I wouldn't share until hers debuted in the next "Onstage".. I can't wait to share it with you all but until then, I hope to have lots of other things to show you!!

Since I have to come up with tons of cards and since I'm in a huge creative rut, I decided to go through and mark my favorite layouts and color combos from the last few SU catalogs.. Do you recognize this one? I changed the main image cuz I don't have the hostess set it was shown with, and made a few adjustments to suit what I do have!! I also grabbed my regal rose GG and stitched the edges using my sewing machine. ( Just to add a little something more)

Fun Recipe Book!

Hey Friends, I know it's been awhile. We are trying to prepare for a move and I've got a TON on my mind lately. I have been making a few things lately, and this cute recipe card book is one of them.. I absolutely love it!! I'm funny with my recipes, If I haven't tried it but it sounds good it goes in one place, if I have tried it and love it then it goes in another. So this is what I made to put all my Faves in! I got this darling idea from Roxy!! She has sooooo many cute things over there and you have to cruise over and check her stuff out!
Just a quick note and Thanks to Beate for using one of my cards that I sent her as a Weekend Sketch Challenge, she is so awesome and I'm thrilled that she liked my card so much!

I know you probably all thought that I had dropped off the face of the earth. But no I haven't I've been reading the "Twilight Series" books and I think I've read them all at least 5 times each!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, so they have been consuming my thoughts and time. I have been making a few things here and there and this is one of the items. It's a card book, each page is for a different month and holds cards too! This is a pic of the inside, I made this book for something extra special as a Thank you for a big deed..

As for directions, the BIA comes with a CD but I haven't watched it. I just learned how to use it from a friend. It is soooo much fun!

I am on my way to Utah tomorrow, I hope my Delta flight doesn't get canceled (they are pulling planes for electrical checks from the ATL hub) when I get home I will get busy stamping again.

Whale Wishes & WSC39

I decided to use this cute little whale with some East Coast Prep DSP, I'm not totally thrilled with how it came out especially the sentiment looking like its falling off a cliff.. But it will work if I need a cute card for a get "whale" wish.. I also wanted to use some of my HPH that is totally neglected and unused so I thought the little hanger would be cute.. Isn't this little bunny the cutest! I found this on a sheet of rubber that a friend gave my daughter. I decided this one was mommies, heheheh :)
I popped into HL today and just so happened to stop over by the cuttlebug stuff to look for the new embossing folders and after silently chewing them out for not having the new ones, I found the new ones!! *sheepish grin* so I had to get the Swiss Dot folder, I almost got the paisley one too but I am soooo on a tight budget.. So I just started playing and this is what I came up with, I like the way it turned out and I think it will be a fun little card for Easter..

So here is the hum drum scrapbook I bought from Target's Dollar spot some time ago.. I wanted to put together something special for my new little niece. So it went from this..... To this!!
I added lots of pretty Ginger Blossom Paper, Ribbon, Ink and some brads and out came one adorable little scrapbook (if I do say so myself) for my new little niece! I'm so excited to get it sent off and see what beautiful pictures my sil puts in it.. Hugs

This weeks Sketch Challenge over at SCS was just that! A Challenge, I'm not sure if I like how this turned out. This stamp is from Send a Celebration from SAB 2006. I was looking through my stamp sets trying to thin out but realized I love all my stamps! Therefore, I will have to buy a new bookshelf for Stamp storage.. Mine is full! Anyone who has ever seen my stamp room knows that when I started I had TONS of room for Stamp set accommodation. hehe

Mickey Birthday!

My dear little nephew adores Mickey Mouse, so I just had to go out and get a Micky Mouse Stamp Set.. This is the card I made him for his Birthday Party today it went in a Huge Mickey Gift bag, with a Huge Mickey Sucker and a Big Fleece Mickey Mouse blanket that I made him.. I was sitting there along with all the three year olds saying "open mine, open mine!" My daughter had to remind me that it was from her too!

Wow!! (sitting back admiring) I LOVE this set, and color combo! Can you tell??
Here is yet another project using this beautiful new set "Always", however this time it isn't a card! It's an envelope brag book- Roxy did this AMAZING tutorial for SCS and it looked like it would be something I would do, I just didn't know when inspiration would strike.. Wow, did I get knocked over the head with it today!

I printed out some pics of the kids from our last little trip to the Beach in FL, to put in a card to send to my mom.. As I sat down and started getting it all ready to be sent out I got struck with that inspiration bomb! So I decided this would be PERFECT, just like the creator of the amazing tutorial! I can't wait till my mom gets it, I wish I could be there to see her reaction..

It's alot of fun, and super cute. I love all the little sayings that are included too! I haven't added a sentiment just yet so that I can use it for anything.. This is such an easy set!

So I'm back blogging again, sorry for the downtime. We had a wonderful "mini" vacation in Florida for Valentines Day weekend. I think I even possibly experienced my most relaxed, stress free day ever! ( And that is really saying something!)
I love todays Sketch Challenge over at SCS so I just had to give it a try with my new stamps that just came today! My First Challenge!

I have always wanted to try the Challenges over at SCS, but I guess I've always been a little intimidated by it all. Well today I turned over a new leaf and got to work. I really like this sketch, it was super simple and between all the sick kids and things that have been keeping me on the go lately, I whipped it up pretty quick! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, I used the new "Birthday Whimsy" set from Sale-a-bration, and instead of inking the whole gift image, I used my markers and just colored the top half to make a smaller package...

Okay so I had 3 lucky gals leave me some feedback on my post "What would you do?" For those of you who missed it, I was in search of help for some Samples I needed to make using some brads I had been sent. Card Tote!

I found this Amazing Tote tutorial HERE and I finally got one made up and I just LOVE it!!! Lisa of Running with Scissors is just AWESOME! Her directions made this so simple to make and put together. You have to try it!!
So I have lots of Au Chocolate paper and I really wanted to pair it up with my beautiful Satin ribbon. I used Kraft card stock for the cards, with some Very Vanilla, and stamped using my True Friends set and my scalloped circle punch. This was a fun set to put together, and I think I'm going to use it as a gift for my upcoming Hostess/Customer Appreciation party..

I met Suzanne from Eyelet Outlet at the last 2 conventions I attended. And well we got to talking and now I am doing some design work for her. So she sent me a bunch of new brads recently for me to go to work on and this is the first card I came up with.. But I love it so much that I have to duplicate another to keep for myself. I also have to admit that this is the first real time I have used the Pick a petal stamp set on a card.. Shame on me, I know!! Well I hope you enjoy todays post!

These are just the funnest and easiest thing to make! I have lots of big pieces of chipboard laying around and I just love putting these together. This one was done using Basic Grey paper and May arts and SU ribbon. The flower gems at the bottom were picked up from Targets $1 spot.. I inked the edges with some pretty in pink ink and used a clip at the top..

I've LOVED LOVED LOVED this Rock Star paper from DCWV.. So I picked some up and YES, I did cut into my stack. But ONLY to make a special gift for someone who ROCKS! I thought this would make a fun gift for a teenager to add pictures of herself and her friends!!
Also did you notice the background??? Okay so I just HAD to find a way to get a nice picture.. So Santa brought me my gift early this year and yes I already confessed to my husband that I opened it early.. So this is called a "soft box" .. Now I just opened it and pulled it out of its packaging so it still has a few wrinkles. Its so exciting, it came with a camera stand, 2 special lights and the box itself with different color backgrounds..

This little set was a special gift for a girl I teach in my Sunday school class. Her grandfather passed away last week and I wanted to give her a little something to let her know I care. Elzybellzy Fun!

I just got my first order of Elzybells Stamps. Oh, my goodness I had so much fun stamping last night! So here are a few cards with my new images, they are just to darling!! These Images were just screaming to be made into a winter shaker. I used kosher salt for snow and added some cute ribbon I got at the Target $1 spot. I added some green and red Stickles to the tree for a little shine and used my flannel and polka dot backgrounds. The Polka dot bkgd. is quickly becoming my favorite.

Okay so I saw the COOLEST Ink pad holder that Rebel Inker made for $6 using foam core and a super savvy pattern she made herself!! I just HAD to make one but realized soon after finishing that I really love my already established Ink pad holder. But I did have a problem with my Ribbon, the more I get the more its just ALL over the place so I modified her design to accommodate my ribbon, after finishing it and sitting back and admiring it, I decided I needed something to hold my re-inkers, stickles and ink cartridges!! Wow, I'm so super thrilled I just free'd up tons of space on my table! I picked up some Foam Core at Wal-mart for $1 a sheet, I used 2 pieces for these projects... THANKS REBEL INKER!!

Okay so it doesn't really hurt, but it looks like it does! I had kids and adults asking me all night long if this was real! Yeah, who stitches something like that up with nails??? Anywho I had a bunch of fun having people stare at it and little kids shy away because of the gruesomeness of it all. Ingredients: Vaseline and cornstarch, mix till putty forms, and use makeup for effects!

Okay so you know that little fake skin problem I was having.. Well I figured it out and boy did I get my DH good!! I mixed up some Vaseline and cornstarch made it into this super fun to play with paste and applied a huge glob of it to my hand. I then proceeded to cover it with Halloween makeup and made it look really bruised and gross! I was searching and searching for my fake blood when I just decided to go for the good old standard- Ketchup. I slit open my "wound" and applied some ketchup.. I then went downstairs to where my DH was playing nicely on his xbox 360 and went into the back storage room where I pretended to be looking for something when all of a sudden I hit the wall really hard and started calling for him very frantically.. He came running and boy was the look on his face priceless. He really thought I'd been wounded until I started laughing.. A little cruel, I admit- but it was really good. I failed however, to get a picture of it cuz it was scaring my little one so I showed her how fun it was to take it all off..

Fake Skin that is...
Okay so the whole story- In 6Th grade my teacher made this super cool putty like "fake skin" I'm pretty sure it was made with Vaseline and possible flour or cornstarch. She tinted it with makeup to make it look like flesh. Well I'm in search of that recipe, I've found a few online and tried them but I guess on Monday I will have to run out and buy some Vaseline and try some more. I'm so obsessed with finding this recipe and making it that I even looked through my old year books for proper spelling of her name and tried looking her phone number up.. Yes ladies, I admit it, I was going to call and seriously ask her for the recipe..
Okay so it didn't work, I couldn't find her number.. Thank goodness I don't want to be perceived as crazy. So if anyone has any suggestions or recipes you want to share drop me a line...

WOW!! Where to start???
Okay so I hope I'm not bragging but I am so overloaded with NEW STUFF that I can hardly contain myself and I just want to show it to someone...
Okay so the next few photos are of all the new things that I have accumulated in the last week!
You all know that I went to CKC in Kansas and boy did I get some fun things there, I also came home to 2 SU orders patiently awaiting and then I went out shopping today with my sister. So whats in all this you ask?? Weeeellllll-
2- lisa bearnson scrapbooks complete with stamps and everything else you need to finish the WHOLE THING!! 2- CK Scrapbooks again complete with EVERYTHING to finish the album, this is my way to scrapbook!!
1 free Scrapdaddy tote!!, Free boxes (to ship 12x12 pages in), Chipboard Clipboard, DCWV pack from Joanns, for $19.99 it has a tote 8x8 scrap pack an album and an entire box of cut out colored chipboard pieces!, I also got another 12x12 scrap pad pack same design for $11.99, A Green Crop-a-dile, this was received on pure bribery!! I am so lucky, at the crop in Kansas I was bribed to make an announcement to all the ladies with this, I also got a Paper Crafts Mag too! (not shown), SU Punch, Stamps paper, and ribbon. Some Pioneer adhesives, the lady at their booth was so nice when I went over to ask if I could have some empty boxes as they were packing up she handed me all the left over adhesives that she had! I got another great stamp and 7 or 8 bottles of stickles..May arts ribbon, basic grey paper packs, some sports paper and dog paper from Joann's, a fun card I made at the Archiver's booth, some darling ribbon, eyelets and buttons too!!

Do you see the little face behind the boxes?? That's my Bailey peeking through, you can't blame a girly for trying!!

This was a make and take at a different booth, that was only $2 per 2 sheet layout. I haven't finished mine yet but Im super excited to get organized and get it done. This is one of my NEW FRIENDS!! I tried posting these cards last night, but something wasn't working. So I'm posting quickly this morning before I head to Kansas!! These are the start of my Christmas cards, I think they turned out super cute and I can't wait to get them sent out when the time comes..
