It's Summer Time!

For those of you who may be wondering why I haven't been posting any new stuff lately, it's because we are out of town. When schools out, the open road just SCREAMS to my DH to get out of town. So he is working and we are playing. The pictures below are of my sweet babies. They love to get in the pool whenever the opportunity presents itself. I'll be home soon enough and then I can get back to Stampin'. I keep trying to think of ways that I could bring all of my stuff with me, but it seems impossible unless I had a cargo van. Hmm. that's a thought! Kidding! Well I will check in now and again and drop some more pictures. Thanks for checking in!

Unfrogettable Anniversary

I've always loved this set and I just had to use the frogs together in a scene. It's my parents 29th Anniversary and I wanted to make a special card. I was so inspired by a card I saw on SCS made by StampinWeeza, it made me fall in love with the Stamp set all over again. So the Stamp sets I used are: Unfrogettable, Polka dots and Paisley, and the crown from Pretty Princess. I also used the 2 coordinating wheels. I stamped the polka dot background from PDP set in versamark and used clear EP. I then used my brayer and Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore ink to get the desired effect. I wheeled on the scene and used blender pens and ink to color it in. I Stamped the frogs on Gable Green CS, then did a little water coloring with Green Galore ink. When I cut them out, I cut off the eyes so that I could add googlie eyes. I added some crowns and to finish it off, Stickles and some Ribbon.

Chocolate Cake

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I figured it would be a good masculine card, I'm just not sure about the colors, and over all design. So drop me a line and give me some much needed feedback on it. Thanks!

*Sparkle Fairy*

I have so much fun playing with Stickles! This set is a perfect match for them too! I was just playing around when I made this card. I used Doodle This for the flourishes and Fairy Nice, with some Cool Caribbean and Orchid Opulence. I punched out some flowers and sponged some color on them and added a purple brad. I finished everything off with lavender stickles on the background

Wild Birthday!

I just love this DS paper by K*I Memories, the first time I saw it I thought to myself that would make cute paper for a zoo theme. So in puttering around this evening this is what I came up with. I got the idea for the layout from CPS I modified it a bit as I was cutting the small square for the top and decided I like more up there. I was just looking at my calendar and realized that I have no "boy" birthdays coming up anytime soon. That just means I get to hang onto it and look at it adoringly!

Birthday Wishes

I think my cards always come out better if I'm making them with a specific person in mind. This one is for my neice. I just love these colors, and I love to "rock-n-roll" the cake piece and add glitter to make it sparkle. I've also been making a big effort to use different layouts and lots of layers and things for interest. I really hope she likes this card..

Love Doodles

If you can't tell, I just LOVE this set. With the release of the Preview brochure on the SU Demo website, I can tell this year is going to be Bloomin' with flowers of ALL kinds. I made this with someone special in mind. I used the same color combo from a previous card and I just love it too! I Did my own thing with the layout, and sometimes I surprise even myself. It was just what I needed to get my morning going. (shhh, don't tell DH, the house is still in shambles from the previous week) *grin*

Just some fun

I've finally had a second to sit down and do a little stamping. I haven't tried this layout from SCS before so I just had to. It was fun, I used my new 6x6 DSP in Almost Amethyst, on Regal Rose with some Celery and Very Vanilla. It was fun, I would like to play with the layout a little more. Hope you enjoy!

Hooray For Teachers!

Here are just a few more goodies I've pulled together for our Teacher Appreciation week. I hope they will like, I used an 8x8 piece of patterned paper and folded it to make these cute pouches. I filled them with some paper shred and some fun "Teacher" stamps that I picked up at Target! Our school is raffling (in a sense) all the donations so that each teacher will get something. I've put together bundles of cards and other things to donate..
As you can see I haven't been posting much lately, it's because I have a bunch of family that has flown in for my son's upcoming 8th Birthday. It's a big deal at our house so I'm keeping busy with family and haven't done much stamping! So hang on and I will see what I can do in the off chance I have 5 minutes of peace and quiet!

Teacher Appreciation

This upcoming week is Teacher Appreciation week at my son's school. I wanted to do something fun for his teacher and what a better teacher gift than a clipboard. I hope she likes it. This was my first clipboard that I've done and acually liked. I tried one before and boy was it a disappointment! I stamped the ''e'' on acetate in Stazon White and inked up my Big Deal alpha. I used my chipboard "m'' and traced it out on Gable Green CS, stamped it with my canvas bkgd. and sponged the edges with Green Galore.
Stampin' up- Big Deal Alpha, 1 3/8'' circle punch, Dots and Dashes, Tangerine grosgrain
Ribbon FX, Stickles

I got Tagged Again!

Wow! This is keeping me on my toes. So I got tagged by Stamp Your Heart Out I just love her tutorial she did for a Scrapcard you so gotta make one! They are super fun and I've gotten some big WOWS with it!

So hmmm 7 things about me you don't know

1- I'm the second youngest of 5 children, 3 brothers and 1 sister .

2- I grew up in Idaho and Utah, and since being married have lived in Utah, Idaho, Las Vegas, Houston, and Georgia. I'm wondering what will be next? My husband keeps getting me closer to Florida and I'm terrified of Natural Disasters. That is where he would LOVE to live.

3-I love to play poker and sometimes I feel like I'm pretty good. But I hate gambling so its a double edged sword. I HATE loosing money for any reason (don't we all?) So slot machines are out and it's funny cuz I actually won $50 once in one. But I would have actually won 10 times more if I would have actually played the full amount.. :(

4- I studied Interior Design in College in Salt lake city, Ut. I loved the program so much, and had aspirations to major in Drafting..

5- I met my husband during that following summer while hanging out with some roommates playing pool at our apartment. I thought he was so HOT! He thought I was seeing someone else, (Hello, I Wasn't!-just a friend) So we finally figured things out and started dating. We were soon announcing our engagement to family and friends.

6-I'm an outgoing person and have a tendency to talk to strangers while waiting in line at the store.. Most are pretty receptive :)

7- I was the children's music director in my church for almost 2 years. What a big job!!

Okay so, so many people are being tagged I wanted to find someone who hasn't been tagged yet. and I was browsing this morning and saw this great blog, Check it out-

Something Sweet

So I still have this set out on my desk and I'm enjoying making Summer cards. Who doesn't love a refreshing glass of Pink Lemonade on a warm summer day? I've been working on this off and on all day trying to figure out what color to use as the background. This is what I came up with. I love Pink Passion and I just don't use it enough. I added some Stickles to the glasses for some sparkle and some sponging to the edges with Green Galore, I also used Summer Sun on the main image with the direct to paper technique. I finished it off with some ribbon and a flower with a brad.

Summer Sparkle

Well {weep} with the release of the 2007 Stampin' Up Retiring list, I've decided to play with my favorite Summer stamp sets and bid them farewell. Uuggh! I'm so disappointed with this years list, I'm loosing 35 Stamp sets and 7 wheels. BUT, on the positive side that means they just have to replace all of the sets with new ones!! One I do hope they add is The "Cowboy Kid" set from a mini. It sure is a fun one to play with.
So thinking back to summer, I remember as a child my favorite Popsicle flavors were and still are- Lime, and Grape.... Yum! So I made this card with that in mind, I wonder if it has anything to do with them being my two favorite colors too! One other cold treat I remember eating as a child were Orangesicles. You know them, the Orange Popsicle on the outside with yummy vanilla ice cream in the middle. My grandmother would always have a freezer stocked full!!
So now I want you to leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite Summer treat is!
